Cashmere equals winter. Most people take that as a given.
But that equation isn’t quite right. Cashmere is a fibre. Whether it’s thick or thin, warm or cool, depends on how fine the yarn is, how tight the gauge is, and whether it’s been brushed.
High-count yarn, fine gauge, unbrushed — the result is thin, breathable, and doesn’t trap sweat. Worn in an air-conditioned room in summer, it feels cleaner against the skin than many so-called “breathable fabrics.” Heaviness is a construction choice, not a property of the fibre.
Wearing cashmere in summer isn’t about warmth. It’s about that signature cashmere sensation — light, non-itchy, breathable, temperature-regulating, with zero friction against your skin.
